A Proud Son of Guna Yala
Elías Pérez was born and raised in Cartí Sugdup, a community nestled within the Guna Yala comarca. From an early age, he developed a deep connection to his homeland and a profound respect for its natural and cultural treasures. This connection has fueled his life’s work in education, tourism, and community leadership.
An Educator at Heart
Elías holds a degree in Primary Education from the University of Panama. For over 18 years, he has served as the director of the Corbiski School, where his dedication to education has made a lasting impact. In addition, Elías expanded his academic journey at Palo Alto College in Texas, earning a degree as a bilingual teacher. This experience has enabled him to bridge languages and cultures, teaching both English and Spanish with fluency and finesse.
A Seasoned Tourism Professional
With more than 20 years of experience in tourism, Elías has built a remarkable career as a guide and logistics expert. He has collaborated with esteemed operators like Ancon Expeditions and Dynamo Travel, as well as internationally renowned cruise lines including Windstar, Ponant, and Hurtigruten. Elías has orchestrated complex itineraries for yachts, mega yachts, and cruises, ensuring every visitor experiences the authenticity and magic of Guna Yala.
